Ornithogalum Umbellatum (Star of Bethlehem)
Umbellatum is an early season flower, usually blooming here in the Dandenongs in August/September.
Ornithogalum are very hardy, originating from South Africa. They like a very free draining soil and prefer a full sun or partly shaded position. Prepare your soil to a depth of 20cm, ensuring the soil is light and fluffy. Plant bulbs approximately 5cm apart and 4cm deep.
Feed your Ornithogalum with a good all round bulb fertiliser at the time of planting.
A reminder we do not dispatch our bulbs until closer to planting time. We begin sending our bulbs out in the 3rd week of February, but recommend you do not start to plant until the end of March at the earliest.
This product is available in mid-February and you are preordering as we do not dispatch our bulbs until the 3rd week of February. Orders are dispatched in order of receipt, we appreciate your patience with our initial backlog. We also do not recommend planting until the end of March.
